CAT Sandy Rogers Seminar
April 21 @ 8:30 am - April 23 @ 4:30 pm
CAT is pleased to host Sandy Rogers in April for a 3 day seminar. She is a fun instructor with amazing skills to help every team improve! Sandy has run dogs of many different breeds and sizes, so she has vast experience to draw on. I can’t wait to have her come visit Oregon and work with our fantastic teams in the PNW.
Note for all working spot participants – It is highly suggested you review the Feet First DVD by Sandy, please coordinate with Anne for a copy to view. This is the basis of her program and will help us get off to a running start!
Friday, April 21st – Feet First! Perfecting Line Setting and Turn Cues – All Levels Welcome!
This popular workshop, which was featured recently in Clean Run Magazine, is designed for all levels of handlers. Dogs must have the path of the course identified in order to stay on course. Learn how to set precision lines by learning how to execute the most effective footwork. Handlers may spend up to half the day working without their dogs. Sandy has presented this course to beginners and top-level handlers at the same time. This session can be adapted for all ages of dogs and handlers and their physical abilities.
Saturday, April 22nd – Novice/Intermediate Handling and Contacts (2on2off may have running A-Frame)
During this session we will work on your toolbox, assessing the tools you have and adding new ones that you may need. Sandy will help with the timing of your cues and the best handling paths for your dog.
Students must be at full height contacts to be in this class and have a solid sit stay or dedicated start-line holder. Sandy will modify the challenges for each team. The contacts portion of the seminar will help you deliver a solid 2on2off performance that is clear to you and your dog. If your dog stops early, leaves early or sometimes doesn’t stop in training or trialing this is the class for you!
Sunday, April 23rd – Master Handling (Must be running at Masters level)
During this session, we will begin with how to get the most from your walk through, how to stream line decision making and what to do if you get stuck in decision land. Major focus will be placed on the timing of the turn cues, perfect for the handler that is sick and tired of being told they are late! Sandy will also be implementing her footwork philosophy, to maximize your timing of cues and efficient lines. When it is your turn she will help you with what you want the most help with, including specific turn cues how to set lines and even building drive or impulse control. Sandy will challenge each team individually!
