Becoming a Member

Columbia Agility Team, Inc (CAT) welcomes all those interested in having fun with their dog. If you are interested in dog agility, from beginning to advanced, CAT offers many reasons to belong.  You will share your agility interest with others in the Club at various activities, from agility demonstrations and fun matches, to dinner meetings and agility trials.

Members may use one of the Club’s equipped indoor practice facilities.  Members can attend a scheduled weekly open practice or a member may rent the Aurora or Bethany practice facilities for an hour per week on a monthly basis, either singly or with up to four other members.  CAT sponsors six agility trials each year, for NADAC, CPE  and USDAA, and has fun matches, an off-season agility league, and agility demonstrations in the Portland Metropolitan area.  CAT members can participate in CAT training classes and attend agility seminars with nationally recognized instructors at a discounted rate. Members may receive discounts at certain CAT sponsored events.  We also, donate a portion of the funds received from an agility trial, to various charities.

The date and location of our next general meeting is listed on the Calendar page.  Meetings start at 7PM except for the picnic in July, come earlier if you wish to eat. You can also find the dates and locations of our upcoming dog agility trials  and fun runs by  looking on the Calendar page.   CAT is a working club and all members are expected to participate in the ongoing events of the club, and of course, share in our mutual successes. In order to become a member you must attend one general meeting and volunteer at one CAT event (trial or fun run).

If you are interested in joining the Columbia Agility Team please fulfill your volunteer requirement and attend one meeting before submitting your application.  When you are ready, download the New Member Application and mail to the New Membership Coordinator with your application fee for the current calendar year.  Information about club events and activities is always available on the Calendar page of this web site. If you have been a member in the past and are wanting to reinstate your membership, you do not need to volunteer and attend a general meeting, you will just submit your application with payment as a renewing member.

CAT is a non-profit corporation governed by the members through a  Board of Directors elected by the membership.

The actions of the Board are guided by the bylaws adopted by the membership. The Board also adopts policies to address specific issues. You can see a list of the board members and review the by-laws and policies on the Members page.

After you have completed your requirements, download an application or submit it electronically, fill it out, and send in with a check for payment.
